Activities Week 2020

Dear Parent/Guardian

As many of you will be aware, next week was scheduled to be our Activities Week, where we pause our usual timetable. Many pupils would have been heading off on trips and a range of enrichment activities would have been running in College. Sadly, in the current situation that we find ourselves, these trips and activities can not go ahead in their usual form. We highly value the activities and experiences that this week brings to our pupils, therefore, we would like to continue with Activities Week this year, but in a slightly different form.

We will be pausing the timetabled work set by subject teachers for the whole of next week.  This will be replaced for the week with a grid of enrichment activities created by our subject teams and our extra-curricular club leaders. A demonstration and instructions for these activities will be published in the news section of the school website later today and will be shared with each pupil through ShowMyHomework on Monday. This information will be available for the duration of the week.

We are hoping that this pause in the setting of work will also give some pupils the time and opportunity to consolidate or catch up on any work outstanding from earlier in the term that was required for submission.

We look forward to hearing about the activities that your child has completed throughout the week. An Activities Week email address (AW2020@sawstonvc.org) has been set up to receive any completed tasks or material that pupils would like to share with their teachers.

Kind regards
Mr Sutton

Acting Assistant Principal
