Earhart House

Welcome to Earhart House! I am delighted to be leading such a wonderful cohort of pupils and know that, by working together, we can each achieve excellence, create opportunities for ourselves and others, and ultimately unlock the incredible potential that we have.

Pupils and mentors will meet with one another at the start of every day, engaging in a range of activities all together and in smaller groups. Each of these is designed to stretch individuals to go beyond their current capabilities and to encourage the support of one another in this process. Amelia Earhart, as a pioneering aviator, very much embodied a spirit of adventure and empowerment, of pushing the boundaries of what is possible and encouraging others to do likewise. And this is something we would like to see every member of Earhart House do: dare to try the new thing, go far beyond the minimum or the comfortable, and will their peers to do the same.

Some activities in mentor time will be year specific and pupils will receive high quality, personalised support from their mentors and peers to achieve their best. These include: Year 7s being supported through the transition process; Year 8s reflecting on their progress in Year 7 and starting to consider what they hope to achieve this year, academically and personally; Year 9s creating Individual Learning Plans in preparation for their Options Choices; Year 10s preparing for their own Work Experience, and Year 11s putting together their post-16 applications.

I am looking forward to a fantastic year together, and am excited about what we can be together.
