At Sawston Village College pupils belong to one of our four Houses: da Vinci, Earhart, Mandela and Turing. Further details about the ethos of each House can be found by following the individual links below.

If you are a current parent, please direct queries about your child’s learning, well-being and wider school participation to your child’s mentors in the first instance. Their details can be found via clicking on the Handbooks for Parents link on the left.

Parents should also check the Letters Home section for most recent communications, and the Information Advice and Guidance pages to find details on the Year 9 Options process, the Year 10 CIAG Programme (including Work Experience) and the Year 11 post-16 application process.

Safeguarding children

The College is committed to safeguarding young people. It achieves this through high quality pastoral care; a PSHEE programme that provides appropriate guidance on being safe as a young adult; signposting to agencies and adults who can provide support; being vigilant for signs that a young person may be experiencing difficulties that may require further help and support.

There are occasions when either members of the Senior Leadership Team or the Pastoral Leaders may be required to discuss concerns with parents that may be related to safeguarding and child protection. The College has a legal requirement to ensure the safety of all its pupils and communication between the College and parents is a key part of this process.
