Examination Results 2016

Sawston Village College is once again delighted to announce outstanding examination results. In 2016, 82% of pupils achieved GCSE A*-C grades for both English and Maths, placing the College near the top of all schools in Cambridgeshire. 81% of pupils achieved 5 or more A*-C grades including English and Maths and 96% of pupils achieved 5 or more A*- G grades. 76% of pupils took the English Baccalaureate and 43% of pupils achieved it. Progress in English and Maths were 88% and 86% respectively, which are well above the national average. Attainment 8 was C+, representing the average grade achieved across 8 subjects including English and Maths and EBacc subjects. Pupils have also made strong progress across a broad range of subjects, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds; a key priority for all schools. The provisional Progress 8 figure was +0.28, representing nearly a third of a grade higher than nationally. Finally, 20 pupils achieved a remarkable 10 or more A*/A grades at GCSE.
