Arts Award

Arts Award

As one of the very few Artsmark Platinum schools, Sawston Village College is committed to running the Arts Award, a nationally accredited qualification managed by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England. The school offers the Arts Award as an extracurricular personal learning programme. The Arts Award, which can be completed at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, recognises young people’s participation and leadership in the arts outside the curriculum and interprets the ‘arts’ in the widest possible sense. In this way, the Award develops and assesses both arts-related and transferable skills, such as creativity, communication, planning and teamwork. The Arts Award is on the Qualification Credit Framework and is accredited by OFQUAL.

For more information about the Arts Award see www.artsaward.org.uk, or contact the school's Arts Development Manager. The school is also pleased to have a partnership with the South Cambridgeshire Decorative and Fine Arts Society which supports young people to achieve this award.
