Examination Results 2017

5th September 2017

The College is once again celebrating GCSE success following the release of the 2017 results in August. In the new GCSEs in English and Maths, an incredible 77% of pupils achieved a grade 4 or better in both subjects, while 63% achieved a grade 5 or better. Nearly 30% achieved grades 9-7 in the new examination, with 9% of all grades were at the demanding level 9. Overall, more than 75% of pupils achieved 5 or more grades at GCSE A*-C with English and Maths 4+.

Jonathan Culpin, Principal, said: ‘Many congratulations to our pupils on their impressive results, especially in this first year of the new, reformed GCSEs in Maths and English. We are extremely proud that they have risen to the challenge and wish them all the best for the future. I would also like to thank the staff at Sawston Village College for their hard work and skill over the past five years in supporting what is a fantastic group of young people’.
