Examination Results 2016

3rd October 2016

Sawston Village College is once again delighted to announce outstanding examination results. In 2016, 82% of pupils achieved GCSE A*-C grades for both English and Maths, placing the College near the top of all schools in Cambridgeshire. 96% of pupils achieved 5 or more A*-G grades, and 43% of pupils achieved the English Baccalaureate, well above the national average. Attainment 8 was C+, representing the average grade achieved across a range of subjects. Early analysis also indicates that pupils have made strong progress compared to the national average, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds; a key priority for all schools. The provisional Progress 8 figure, based on national progress in 2016, is +0.28, representing nearly a third of a grade higher than nationally across a broad range of subjects. Finally, 20 pupils achieved a remarkable 10 or more A*/A grades at GCSE.

A full breakdown of the results can be found below, along with a link to the Department for Education performance tables. Please be aware that, until November, the performance tables will still be based on the 2015 results.

The College would like to congratulate all pupils on their success and we wish them well for the future.

Mr Culpin
